Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance (dvd5 or dvd9)?
Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance (dvd5 or dvd9)? –
Just wondering if anything's anybodys tried has gotten this game working yet. I've done some searching but it doesn't seem like it. What about just the regular Metal Gear Solid 2?
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance is DVD9. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is DVD5, but has save problems.
so substance works fine then?
I just got MGS2: Substance working for me as of a few days ago... not much to it, just need to flatten the DVD9, u can find tutorials on that on other scene sites
it doesn't work as the full dvd9 even with the new dvd9 patch?
Yes.I've tried it with the new 0.6d hdl patch and it doesn't work.

Hmmmmm i found a site that said u can rip the skateboarding game out from the disk and play it on hdloader cant renember the site though if any 1 no's please tell
Sorry to bring up the dead, but...
The 'flattened' MGS2: Substance is supposed to be around 2GB, right?
Seems a little low but the way I did it that's what it came out to be.
edit: yeah I didn't do this correctly at all, BSOD and I think it's supposed to be around 6GB.
Anyone know where to get a copy of Apache 1.1

Yep the flattened version of MGS2 Substance should be the same size as the regular version; about 5-6 gig i think. However, if you use HDLoader with the latest patch (0.7c) then you can transfer the disc image without the need for flattening the image. I used Winhiip to then transfer it across and have since played the game through to completion without any problems. I Should add though that the skateboarding extra still doesn't work.
