issues with a few games

i recently dusted off the ps2 after awhile of not using it.. however im having issues with some games with hdloader. specifically, bully, the sopranos, and guitar hero 1 (which is odd because 2 works perfectly). all the above mentioned are stated on ps2hd as working either by enabling mode 3 or even not having to do anything at all. bully plays opening scene and freezes, sopranos goes str8 to a black screen, guitar hero checks the mem card and then black screen. any ideas? also, madden 07 checks mem card as well goes to white screen. ive tried many different versions of hdl. currently i have 0.8b running from the memcard

They should work with mode3. Are you sure you enabled it?
Try to rip the discs with DVD Decrypter and install them via WinHIIP.
Try the repair option from WinHIIP also...

you "dusted off" the ps2...
so long time no use? maybe the reason for failure is : moisture, our unfriendly neighborhood...

clean up evereything, especially N/A connectors (q-tip, alc)
avoid humid storage (I know it's winter, so you probably heat your flat, but this is not the same...if the ps2 is next to a window, no good...u know what I mean...)

ive been playing guitar hero 2 with no trouble so no real reason 1 shouldnt work.. ill try fixing with winhiip....they still havent come up with networking support for that yet huh?
