    hi can someone help me please when i try to put Shadow hearts covenant into my ps2 with winhiipe i got an error message (I know already that this game incompatble with hdloader ) saying that illegal directory structure
    and after that it starts the transfering
    so what is the problem exactly

    I've also installed that game (for future HDL patch tests), and I also used WinHIIP (v1.6.6) to do it. I never saw the problem you mention. That, plus the specific error message you got, indicates that something was wrong or at least 'weird' about the source you installed from.

    I installed from an ISO file, so I know that should work, unless your ISO has been damaged somehow.

    Installing from a DVD drive should also work, but sometimes that causes complications due to copy protection (intentional bad sectors etc). For such cases the installation can sometimes go bad, even if it seemed to complete successfully. That's why I prefer making an ISO first, and then install that.
