Hi there. I recently installed free mcboot and hdloader using this tutorial http://psx-scene.com/forums/f153/%5B...advance-64832/ ([tutorial] Installing Free McBoot through USBeXtreme/HDLoader/HDAdvance) . Most games are working fine except a handful that I really want to play with faster load times. By the way, I own all these games. I took an extensive look at search engine results for solutions and have yet to find an accurate and current answer. I've also checked all the compatibility lists and they say the games work one way or another. So I'll go ahead and list the games I'm having issues with.

    Dragon Quest VIII
Final Fantasy XII (What's the unstutter patch?)
    God of War II
    Gran Turismo 4
    Xenosaga Ep. 1

Another note, I installed them all through a PC and USB2.0 casing Using WinHiip v1.7.6. Any help or comments are appeciated. Thanx.

Just use OpenPS2Loader (OPL). It can run *most* of them without any extra fixes.
The latest publicly available version is v0.7, and is available for free on it's main thread in it's own sub-forum on this forum board.

HDLoader is more or less dead now.

Here is a link to a few of those games. They have to be patched.
SKS Apps - Exploit Systems - Wii Ps3 Ps2 Apps - Homebrew Game Downloads

Or you have the option of using OPL, it has a great game compatibility..

Hope this helps a little bit..

It works from internal IDE HDD, as well as USB HDD.

If you have FMCB working you only need a USB flashdrive to load OPL from. No need to repeat the FMCB install process.

Yeah, I let him know about that. I have a nice video "How to Do It", on my YouTube page...

Okay, yeah. After putting some thought into it i figured out i could just install through usb. So far Final Fantasy XII is working pretty good so far but all the others are still giving me issues. I'm wondering if it's an issue with WinHiip like maybe I was supposed to select a certain option of some sort or something. I'll be back to post progress hopefully. Thanx for all the advice btw xD.

Man... things have taken a turn for the worst. Tried installing a game through Winhiip and the transfer kept failing about 20-40% through. Same thing with a couple of other games. So i decided maybe my HDD need a good reformatting and start from scratch. went ahead and extract all the images to back em up but had failures extracting god of war II and dragon quest viii. so i just let em go and formatted but then kept having issues with formatting like the HDD freezing up or something. Even when formatting in Winhiip itll just freeze up after it hits 100% with disconnecting the usb being the only way to "unfreeze" winhiip. so basically im thinking the used 200GB maxtor i just got off ebay is burnt out or something but im not giving up hope. tried this app called maxblast and it seems to get the formatting done but winhiip format is still failing. so yea. either i figure out how to repair my HDD or shell out the dough for another one. any thoughts?
