GTA San Andreas modding???

On the pc version of this you could edit files inside of GTA3.IMG, etc, etc and change vehicles and weapons, etc. I was wondering if its possible? and/or if anyone here has successfully done it? There are some really nice car mods i have.. except i hate playing the pc version of the game.. the controls are annoying, i prefer it on the ps2.

I was able to put new handling, car colors, and a mod that allows you to take more cars into transfender

you cant use pc mods like cars or guns because the models and textures are higher resolution in the pc version

all the files I replaced are text files (.dat files)

basically I got someone elses modded handling.dat, carcols.dat, etc

replaced those files and rebuilt the iso

Did you edit transfender to allow motorcycles, and can you tell me how you did if you did?

yeah I think its in shopping.dat and carmod.dat

someone else made the mod

all you can really do to bikes (even bicycles!) is pick the color

I can probably give you those files as they are small

:edit: I forgot but also when you mod bikes in san fierro and las venturas transfender when you exit the mod garage you spawn above it in the ceiling

in san fierro its easy to fall through the ground and respawn but alot of times you lose the bike

and in las venturas you get stuck

but it works fine in los santos

damn i would love for the pc car mods for ps2.. wonder if they would work if i down converted them to the same res as the ps2 car textures have?

there's a program called game graphic studio that can export and import graphics into the game, i only use it for pro evo soccer/winning eleven but it does support gta san andreas

it should be quite easy to extract bmp/png files from it and edit them in photoshop and import back into the game, i've just had a quick look around and looked in the PLAYER.IMG file and there's a lot of stuff that can be edited

Wonder what all games that app will work with... a nude lara may be on the way.... hehe

But seriously... making custom cars... with my name and a logo... would be sexy... slapping my mug on CJ... or various fun things... yep... would be pretty sweet.
