When I try to run this game via hdloader, it doesn't show anything, just a black screen, tried mode 1 & 3 and mode 3 by itself. I then burned a copy of the game to a DVD at 1x speed. And it says "unable to read disc". Has anyone got anywhere else with this?
there is already a thread about FF XII, there is no need to start another one, use that if u have problems running the game from the HDD, all questions are already asked, search next time

I found the ppf patch. I patched .iso, then burned to DVD and tried launching off of the cd with the same "Disc Read error". I'm using Memorex 16x DVD+R Media that has worked in the past.
you only use the patch to run the game on HDLOADER !
if your burining it on a dvd you need no patch
that's what is so odd, it won't work unpatched on DVD either. I heard you don't even have to use modes, although I tried 1 & 3
interesting to say the least.. I thought PS2 couldent boot +R media.. Hmmm.. Well at least you said it worked for you in the past.. Give a -R a try... Other then that I dont know...
And yes your correct no modes are needed for XII
Arggg, i just tried to play some of my other backups, my laser won't read DVD's anymore. Tried a couple games I purchased...didn't read them either...:-(, I patched then added to HDLoader, works, I was not wanting to deal with the stuttering CGI's, I love watching them...sorry to waste your time...:-(

this might sound dumb but do you have a modchip ?
