Any other long term side effects of the patch? Does it leave any programs running like a worm or a virus?
no don't worry, it's not a virus, nor worm, nor spyware, nor ADS writer.

I've made a little progess with the demo. When I patched in SLUS_291.71 offset 0x21f664 and offset 0x21f744 from 01 to 00, I could get into the movie which crashed a few seconds into it. If I cancelled out of it I could play the demo without any problems. It's possible that one of the disk speed patches, but I'm probably not going to do more testing until the game is released in the US.
Edit: That's supposed to be "It's possible that one the disk speed patches may help more..."

nice little progress indeed!
So the problem comes from how the ps2 plays those videos?
I thought FMVs were quite standard. Could you tell what function you are patching? I'd love to try on the Japanese FFXII.

I think that it's more of a timing problem that is aggravated by the movie playing code. I'll post the surrounding bytes later, when I get to my computer.Originally Posted by TheShadowRunner

10 00 04 ae 01 00 04 24 c4 a4 11 0c 14 00 02 ae
second:
c4 a4 11 0c 01 00 04 24 20 00 40 14 2d 10 00 00
Crazy could you make a batch file that will patch the demo and maybe even the Japanese version of the game?
is this for the jap demo or the us?
and how do i remove and replace the scus file? everytime i try the iso ends up being like 10 megs big.
