Final Fantasy X-2: Crash after Game Over
Final Fantasy X-2: Crash after Game Over –
I play Final Fantay X-2 (NTSC) on a V7 PAL PS2. HDLoader used is 0.6d + /C. But the HDLoader version doesn't seem to matter...
Well, my problem is that the game crashes after I get a game over. When it tries to "reboot" the game after the game over screen, I get a black screen of death.
Couldn't find this issue described in any compatibility list. Anyone else having this problem? It can be frustrating to have to reboot your PS2 quite often...
I've seen it mentioned in one or two compatibility lists and have had the same problem myself using the original HDLoader. However, when I patched it with 0.6c using pretty much most of the fixes (Gradius patch etc. etc.) it seemed to fix it.
Mind you, this is going off testing it just the once. Killed my party to test and instead of freezing, went back to new game.
Dont you have to enable one of the modes to fix this?
I think you have to enable mode 3 for the game to even load. That's cool that the game is fully compatible now. I have to try it sometime.
The game did work without any modes set for me. However, setting mode3 doesn't do any good. Instead of a BSOD I now get back to the PS2 browser. Doing anything there instantly crashes my PS2 though.
Well, I'll have to live with it for now, I guess. Gotta level up so I won't die so often
I didn't enable any modes but after a few further tests, it did actually go to the BSOD after a game over and now I can't even get it to goto the title screen anymore. I'd say the problem is still there then unfortunately. Though, its not the hardest game in the world so its not that much of a big deal.
