    Just restore what was 'lost'. Many thanks to the ORIGINAL authors (ffgriever, and contributed by dlanor) of these patches.

    Just a little help for anyone who is new to these stuffs.
    1. Get a clean image of your owned original copy of the game.
    2. Identify your original game version. Download and apply the ppf patch with ppf-o-matic accordingly.
    3. Transfer the image to your HDD with hdl_dumb, hdl_dump or any other compatible programmes.
    4. Enjoy the game.

    Some people with FF XII have problems with the video stuttering and going really slow when running it off of the hard drive, these patches are supposed to help with that problem.
    PS2 V7 = Exploit, 320GB Seagate HD.
    Wii = Softmodded+BootMii Boot2
    PS3 = Caught on fire..
    XBOX360 = Unmodded
    Nintendo DSI XL = Unmodded

    is this the same patch that was posted before wich unstutters the FMVs, but have to be run completely (the FMVs) or else the game will lock-up?

    No. This patch (by ffgriever as I recall) makes the game perfectly normal IMO. FMVs can be paused and/or skipped to the same extent as when playing the game from DVD.

    (NB: There are several FMVs in the game that don't allow pausing, regardless of whether the game is patched or not.)

    The only drawback remains a rumour as far as I'm concerned, and is supposed to be that a very few spoken lines in the game go silent. But I've never noticed any unexpected silence where dialogue was expected. So I can't verify that myself. And for those who do notice some difference in dialogue in playing some scene with/without patch, I'd rather ascribe such differences to the fact that the dialogue in FF12 sometimes changes due to your actions. So if you don't act exactly the same way in two playthroughs, you should expect changes in dialogue, including stricken lines.

    I too worked a lot with this patch, generating ppf files for most FF12 versions, including one which is missing in the collection of attachments posted by lostinnil. So I'm attaching it here instead. This ppf will work with four different FF12 releases: French, German, Italian, Spanish. (Those four releases have identical code in the patched section.)

    Best regards: dlanor

    Hey, sorry to bump such an old thread >.<

    Just wondering - I'm trying to patch together a PAL version of FFXII IZJS. I have backed up isos from discs of the PAL version of FFXII, as well as the Japanese IZJS. Now, what I'm wondering is whether or not the IZJS patch in this thread will work? I know that the IZJS language patcher is intended for use with the NTSC version of FFXII...

    Can anyone confirm/deny whether it works or not?

    Mods: Feel free to delete my post if I really shouldn't have bumped such an old thread >.<

    You would not know it because of the unorganized information and lack of detailed and complete compatibility lists, but Final Fantasy XII is fully supported by OPL and does not need a patch to play anymore. I am currently playing FFXII IZJS myself using an original untouched japanese ISO. All you need to do is apply the english translation patch to the original IZJS ISO. You do not need to convert anything or use a special patch for stuttering. I'm assuming there was a point where the game was not playable without that.

    Being as how you already have a copy of izjs and ffxii, following the instructions of the readme located inside the 0.22 patch folder, you should be up and running in no time. So far I am 40 hours into the game and have only experienced minor pausing during the introduction movie playing over a network. Installed on internal HDD there is 0 stuttering at all and very fast load times.
