Ya im tryign to play Escape From Monkey Island for PS2.

Now i have it on my Harddrive and it works fine, but my friend has a copy on his and the voices stutter and freeze.

We both have the same version of HDLoader(v.08b) and my compatability settings are set to nothing.

    Maybe im just lucky...?

Does anyone know what compatability settings to turn on?

on another note i found this link which mentions the game and says it works with the patch but i dont know where to find the file.
    http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/show...=monkey+island

however it seems this was a post from over a year ago so maybe the patchw as worked into the new HDLoader?

I think the patch is related to the HD speed (bitrate). Your version of HDLoader has a DMA selector that permits, pressing a button on HDLoader boot time, to set the desired DMA acces mode of your HD. You should have a dma.ini config file that maps DMA modes to buttons...

I have PAL and my copy works fine, I bought it 2nd hand, my CD/DVD has scratches,
but it installed and plays just fine, perhaps your friend has a fragmentet harddisk?

Why do you mention MDMA/UDMA with this game?

It works fine with no such stuff...

Yes, it works fine for him and for you, but his friend has the "voices stutter and freeze" so he asked about an old post where is mentioned a patched HDLoader to slow the HD...

Well I assume the PAL and NTSC versions differ slightly as barf states the PAL version can be played without messing with hdloader settings. The NTSC version, on the other hand, does suffer from speech drop-outs and stutters on the default settings.

My NTSC version works fine (ripped from the original disc) on a patched hdoader using the slowest MDMA/UDMA setting. The original poster should know that the newest hdloader patch allows you to adjust the settings at the splash screen; so rather than use a specific hdloader for one game, use the latest patch and change the setting at the splash screen.

Hmm, anyone got both the NTSC and PAL version?

I would like to see the output from:
    Code:
    diff EfMINTSC.iso EfMIPAL.iso
