Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana "works"
Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana "works" –

Just tried it with HDLoader 0.6d
Only option I turned on was "kill hdloader".
Game works fine, except every once and a while the game plays a very high-pitched squeal noise when a character is going to talk. Kinda annoying. Maybe could be fixed with a few other HDLoader options.
Anyway, the game is very kiddy and basic.

the game isn't out for another 3 weeks or so. that's the review copy you're playing not retail.
and the sound is only a problem if you're in dolby

playing from hard drive 0.6d, couldn't load the boss fight in the tower of marcus. just black screen with music playing in the background. this makes the game entirely incompletable.
I have to revise this. I played around with the combatibility settings and it worked. I can't say which one made it work though.

I completed the game with occasional black screens of death. It's really rare but it does happen, at leaast for me.

I just arrived at the tower of marcus, I need to know which settings you have, can you post them?
I play it with hdl 0.6d, the pitchy sound is there, killing my ears once in a while. I tried a lot of settings combinations, impossible to make this sound disapear.
I also have another problem, weird that no one told about it: I have to boot the game without my memory card inserted, wait until title screen, and then insert it to load my save.

ok I passed the tower of marcus without any problem, here is my config for those interested: enable slow hdd access (mode 1), disable dvd9 support (mode 2), date/time fix 3.
but remember I have a pb with my mc, I have to boot without my mc inserted so perhaps there is a more compatible setting.
vincatzero: I put the sound on stereo (not dolby) and this annoying sound is still there! I play with japanese voices.

Yeah, I tried most of the modes but there's still that black screen of death. It only happened about 5 times during my entire playthrough though. That's 40+ hours with only 5 hiccups so it's not too bad. Plus, the high pitch sound you're hearing is probably because they don't have the voice overs yet. I don't think it's a hdloader problem because it always happens at the same place.

Thanks for the info about Tower of Marcus. The high pitch noise is due to this being a prerelease version and has nothing to do with hdloader.
