Winhiip screwed up my ps2 hard drive need help

Hi there I hope someone can help me! So I was erasing some games off the ps2 hard drive with winhiip 1.5b and it decided not to read the Hard drive anymore and said the Ps2 master boot record was corrupt. The Hard drive wont work in the PS2 anymore either. I probably need to format it but i wanna extract my games from it first. HDL_dumb can read the hard drive it but I dont think the program extracts the games just deletes it and PS2 HD utility 1.2 doesnt want to extract them it gives me a funny error but it does read the games on the hard drive! Any ideas people? I just need a program to put my games back on my pc format the HD and put them back on! Your advice is greatly appreciated seeing that im very new to this scene

use the search , ppl have shown how to do this. but why do you use winhip 1st and then wanna use HDL_DUMB 2nd ?

I've had one game erased because of switching between Winiip and HD_Dumb(p). I haven't been able to recover it either. But I've learned not to mix around with 2 of those programs at once. Stick with one or the other to save yourself from similar problems in the future.

How is this Winhiip's fault?

Anyway try winhiip 1.6, its the newest version. And dont mix programs, nothing good comes out fo that.

HDL_dumb and PS2 HDD Utility are really just GUI frontends for HDL_dump (latest binary release is 0.6 I think). Whatever program you were using to transfer games to your PS2 HD, you really have to stick with. Mixing the programs up tends to cause serious problems that aren't easily resolved (if at all resolvable without data loss).

Chances are you'll just have to format and reload everything from your originals.

I actually never mixed programs I was deleting a program off the HD using winhiip and then it just wouldnt read it. It said the PS2 master boot record was messed. So I tried a different program. (hd dumb) and it could read the HD but not extract my games. I just need a program other then those to to extract my games on the PC. My orignals my friend has but hes in the US at the momant. (gave him something to do while he was gone) lol Oh well i guess good old format and ill have to wait until he comes back. Thanks guys for the advice.. like i said I've very new to this. So i guess im learning as time goes! :P (the hard way mind you) hehe
