I'm going to lose my freaking mind here, I'm getting so mad. Every single game I try to install causes the exact same error to appear. I'm not sure what to do about this. I've attached a screen shot. The game gets 100% done, then it crashes. I'm at a completely loss about what to do about this.

try downloading winhiip from different site (sometimes files are broken). You could also use hdl_dump
p.s. some games of yours are shrinkable afaik

Yeah, I have downloaded 1.7.6 now from 3 sites - I always get the same result. How can I shrink a game? I realize that games like Lego Star Wars 2 are only roughly 1 gig, but take up 4 because they try to get the game on the outside of the disc, but I don't know how to shrink them....

I think I might of had a similar problem once when I ran out of space on my PC HDD, but I can't remember now, or maybe it's because WinHIIP isn't recognizing the remaining free space on the PS2 HDD. Did you try Scan/Repair in WinHIIP already?

Yep, I did a scan and it didn't find anything needing repair. I have 12 gigs of space left on the drive, so....

What is the source you are installed the game from? On your screen shot it says the Image File is on "CD/DVD Drive E:\"?

EDIT: Is this game being installed from an .ISO, .BIN/.CUE, or virtual drive?

Yes, it's coming from drive E - my DVD-ROM drive. I have a CD based game in there, Star Wars: Super Bombad Racing.

Try making an .ISO of the game using Alcohol %120 since it's a CD based game, or some other CD image making software. Could just be having problems reading from the Disc or Drive.

Ok, thanks. I'll try that. Also, how can I shrink the games as was mentioned above?

This game is only 202MB according to your screen shot. If you are able to get this game on your PS2 HDD, then it will only be 256MB in size. PS2 partitions are created based on 128MB block increments. So if you get this game below 128MB, then the game will be 128MB on the PS2 HDD. You can try shrinking the game by using CDGENPS2, the latest version is 3.1. I don't have time to explain how to do this since I'm at work, but you can try looking in the Generic Game Resizing Thread for more information, or search around in these forums...
