why can't u use a ps2 game for the mc exploit?

i've been searching the forums... i thought i remembered someone asking this but i couldn't find it...

is there a way to use a ps2 CD-ROM based game rather than having to use a ps1 game? i have a messiah 2 chip and hate having to open the drive, insert the ps1 game, turn it off, then turning it back on into ps1 mode... i just want to press reset to do a direct boot...

also, why do we have to use a ps1 disk? is the original hdloader a ps1 formatted disk?

The word 'exploit' here refers to the fact than a program feature or bug is exploited
in ways the programmers had not intended. The program which is used for the MC
exploit is the PSX driver (a sort of built-in PSX emulator), and that program will
only be activated at the boot of a PSX disk. A PS2 disk has no such effect.

if u KNOW that the mc exploit was originally called the independance exploit.
it is simply a security flaw in the PS1 DRIVER of the ps2 system which allows us to hijack the system to run unauthorised code (ie homebrew/elfs) from mem card or otherwise.
from what i remember, the id file in the memcard checks to see if it matches the ps1 id then floods the memory with a certain file and caused an exception which isnt handled, and allows for the exploit program to take over.

this flaw is not in the loading of ps2 games so tuff luck
and no the original hd loader is a pressed ps2 disc but not licscenced
