If it's big but don't have much games on it,will it takes longer time to load compared to 160gb if the games are the same on both hdd's
I think to get 750GB Seagate for my PS2(to replace the 160gb Seagate).

Also for someone why have big full of games hdd(500gb for example)how long it takes for the list to be displayed?

And if someone have that 750GB Seagate hdd,can you tell me some good/bad words about it?

the more games the longer scan times. i don't think hdl scans entire hdd after you install some new games. but i could be wrong. i do believe the more games you have, the longer it takes to scan the disk with hdl.

i have been using seagate disks for a while. i have 750gig sata disk in my pc,and 250gig in ps2.

the bad thing about seagate was recent news about failing drives due to firmware bug or something like that. i think one of my drives has this bug - it doesn't work with my pc at all (even bios cannot recognize it), while it works perfectly with ps2. and it's hard in general to figure out whether you have the flawed model or not.

Well the only problem I have with my 160gb is when I connect it to my PC it becomes hot really fast and when you're adding games it can almost burn you but when it's inside my PS2 it's almost cold all of the time.

Other than that I don't have any problems with that hdd...it's quiet and slim.

The other only possible choice I can have is Hitachi but I think I've read some bad posts about those hdd's

Well i have a 250 gig western digital(with modded netwrok adapter) on my ps2, and have about 30 or so games, it takes a while(about 20 seconds, havent really timed it) to load the list, but its quite fast. I used to have a 40 gig samsung with fewer games, and load time was faster(bout 5-10 seconds), so yeah, it depends on how many games you have on your hd

I have that drive (you're looking at the ST3750640A, right?) and it works perfectly. I've had it in my PS2 for the last 6 months and have no problems to report, with 128 games currently installed. It is actually rather fast considering its size and I have not noticed any major difference in speed when loading up HDLoader between it and the 400 GB drive which it replaced (damn that thing was hot and loud!). In fact I would say that it is slightly faster if anything. This is the biggest drive you can get in your PS2 (largest IDE), but it is very hard to find these days. It was extremely difficult to find mine.

So it's my favourite drive for use in the PS2. It can get rather hot when installing games via WinHIIP, but in the PS2 it's quite cool. I'd think that this applies to all HDDs when used in WinHIIP however.

    I have 2 more questions:
1.How long it takes to fully format 500/750gb hdd
2.Will there will be some problem if I just copy everything from the 160gb Seagate hdd to the 500/750gb Seagate hdd using WinHIIP

I'm wondering what to buy,500 or 750gb because all of my games(140)will fit in 500gb hdd and I'll have most likely 100gb free space left but I don't know if the price is correct(I'll have to go ask)...the 250gb is 85.43 $,the 500gb is 100.35 $ and strangely the 750gb is 151.77 $.The difference in price is too big and the 750gb has only 8mb cache but the other ones 16mb.

I can only answer number 2:
you shouldnt have any problems copying everything to your new hdd(im assuming you will copy the images to your pc hard drive first, then you will move them to your new HD...at least thats what i did and it worked)
V7 ps2, flip top, 2x 8MB sony memcards, FMCB 1.8b, ESR r9b, Cogswap, Hdloader0.8c, 250 gig Western Digital, poorly modded(but functional) network adapter

No I was asking about the Copy Drive button

And one more question...how long it takes to read the hdd when you add a new game.

WELL i havent tested it yet, but it shouldn give you any problems.
about your next question: how long does it take for who, the ps2 or winhiip? winhiip reads it pretty much inmediately after it is installed(bout a few seconds)
