Been somewhat busy with work related stuff and so the PS2 has been collecting dust and still is for some time.

Yet to bring something up for the time being, peeps always keep wondering what the HDLoader Compatibility Modes do. And for everyones information, this was not at all my discovery so I'm not taking any credit from this:

Mode 1: Enable slower HDD access. Passes data from the HDD slower for games that rely on the speed the data is coming from the CDVD.

Mode 2: Enable DVD9 support. (Figure it out yourself)

Mode 3: Remove the Loader from the memory after the game is patched. Some games flush the location where the loader is (because some cheat programs use the same location), and if after that the game resets the IOP (when the loader kicks in to patch stuff) and the system is still patched to enter the loader it crashes.

So there you go. No need to ask about that anymore.

Beautymous. Thank you for your work. This should make blind compatibility lists obsolete quickly.

Should we be posting this? Won't developers find more ways around these modes once all their details are out in the open?

Have you checked into the other 5 modes....well 4 not including no modes.

Anyone know if any other BSOD games are working with a hex edit fix. I expected to see more on these but the scene moves so slow lately.

Could some additional modes be hacked into HD Loader so games like Jak 3, Viewtiful Joe and Crash Twinsanity don't need to be hacked to work?

Its just a theoretical suggestion, maybe it can replace the useless Mode 2 if its only for DVD9 games since we can't directly install DVD9 games anway via disc.

The other 5 modes are just a combination of the 3 core modes which he just described. Nothing special about them.
