What do I need? –
I have a Maxtor HDD with 120gb just lying around and now I thought i'd put it in my ps2.
What exactly is it that I need, I've been looking around and I know that I need the adapter and a Loader, but what is this that I've been reading about HDLoader cause all I caould find in the stores is the HDAdvance.
Now I have also read about these exploits, are they needed for me to play downloaded games that I put on my HDD if I don't have a chip or swap magic or anything like that?
Do I have to buy HDAdvance or can I use the patched HDL that I've seen here for download?
And one more thing; do I have to use the IDE drive to transfer from comp to HDD in ps2 or is it possible to use a twisted network cable and transfer it through ftp or anything like that.
Sorry for the noob questions but I really tried looking around for answers but didn't see anyone else looking for this info!!
Thanks in advance
Whats the version of your PS2?
The number is 30004.
It's the "fat ps2"
I don't know the exact version but I think it's v.4 then.
You don't need to buy HDAdvance from a store, if you're able to boot the exploit. You could just go ahead and buy HDAdvance if you don't have any way to set up the exploit, but it is not the best way to go. The best way to go, at least in my opinion is the exploit, because it allows you to do other things than the HDLoader, and it also allows you access to the latest HDLoader patches. You could either buy a Swap Magic yourself, or have any of your friends who are able set up the exploit for you.
