Want to start over with my Memory Card... which files to transfer
Want to start over with my Memory Card... which files to transfer –

I want to basically "format" or delete all the data on my memory card but keep my saved game data for burnout3 and street racing syndicate, i found two directories off root "BASLUS-20582PBstFrzy" which i'm guessing is SRS and "BASLUS-21050" which i'm guessing is burnout3 (removed the rest of the data from the browser... or can i just delete everything from the card EXCEPT these two directories and have it reset the card but still be able to use my saved?
the point of this is i was messing around with the MC exploit and all, now that i've figured it out i want to start off fresh and i'm not sure if i can simply remove the BADATA-SYSTEM folder without any adverse effects...
thanks

if you remove the title.db file (file used for exploit), I *think* the ps2 will build a new one.

What you need to do depends on what experiments you've made.
For most people it should be enough to delete any 'corrrupt data' blocks,
possibly through ExecFTPs if the PS2 browser refuses (can happen).
And if you do erase the system settings folder, do try to make the PS2
recreate it. This is very stupidly implemented on the PS2, as it is not
possible for a user to derectly save settings. Instead you have to change
some setting and then play some game, using game save, and normaly
that will make the PS2 save settings as well. Like I said, it's very stupid.
In any case, the exploit stuff NEEDS that system settings folder...
So don't try to proceed without it.
Some experiments can leave the MC directory in an abnormal state,
so that some data blocks are still marked as in use, even though they
are not really used for any files or folders that remain. In such cases
you need a total cleansing of that card, for which you can use a PS2
program called 'Memory Card Killer' or MCKiller for short.
If you need to kill the card this way, try to backup the stuff to keep
using the old exploit and ExecFTPs first. Then you can restore it
from your PC when the new exploit is up and running.
