  1. #1 Transfering Saves from Browser 2.0 ?

Hi people, sorry if this isn“t the right place to post this.

I created a folder in my HD using bowser 2.0 to backup my MC saves. The problem I was having now is some bad blocks in HD. I wish to pass my saves from that folder to PC, reformat the HD and then put them again in HD to continue using with browser 2.0.

There“s is a way to backup this folder created in my HD? What I have to do? What programs I“ll need?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

I did it once via ExecFtps mounting the folder __common , then shows me all saves...you can transfer from ps2 to pc, but if you do the opposite, saves wont be shown in browser...dont know why.
In case of my memory fails, check mounting all folders to find the right one...but I think is that __common folder...
otherwise transfer saves to mc and then to pc using same execftps
    Remember the two _

Don't forget in the case of GTA (and others?) the date stamp (?) seems important. Backing up your games by doing a direct copy isn't enough...

You are using offical Sony drive, huh? I dunno...

I use ActionReplayMax... and just copy to a thumbdrive.

This has work for one, but I only tried it once. I ran execftps, opened FlashFXP, connected to the MC and transfered my save folders to a folder on my PC desktop. Then deleted it from the MC (I needed space). I moved one game save back today and it seemed to work fine.

Some games (and programs) have additional check when loading a save.
i had played arround with execftp, nport and launchelf to copy my saves to pc, usbstick and external usb hdd. but san andreas failed to load the save deue to corruption (or so it says). My (pal) xploder 4 and (ntsc) Gameshark2 4.01 had the same error.

Now i'm using MCManager to transfer my saves to a PS2MENU-k database on the HDD but the program s*cks. it has mayor GFX glitches, doesn't check for duplicates,....
But now i'm able to transfer them to an external source with launchelf. (but the full database architecture must be kept) so it's not really practical. but it gets the job done.

it would be nice to see an updated MCManager and some app to edit the index file..

Most of the saves can be transfered with execftp though.
and if you run into a corruption error, just make a new save to the MC, copy it with MCManager and then overwrite the files with execftp and from MCManager restore the save back to the MC. i fixed most of the troublesome saves like that. It seems that the needed info is in the MCManager's index file or something.
