What are the new mode(s) in Toxic OS 0.4? I looked in the manual pdf for info about this but found nothing. There are four modes now instead of three. What do they all do?

Who cares? There is HDL 0.7c
Mode 4 is related to game timing. Fixes a few titles.
Btw, Toxic 0.4 > HDL 0.7c

Grr I hate to admit it, but ToxicOS 0.4 IS better than HDL. Dunno if its worth replicing my chip for a DMS4 Pro though...

Oh, it's definately worth it.
As with a lot of things, it's worth it once there is a game or games you want to play. I never imagined the political debates that would take place over it when I chose to get one though. Yes, I read the entire history of it all, but I do think I would have gone with the DMS4 if I'd been "in the scene" since the beginning, it is just a much too compelling workable solution for me.
I just ran Cy Girls Disc 1 with the new mode 4, never worked before without it. Going to try other games that weren't working before now.
Where you got that info? From what I heard it fixes games that check for the HDD like SotC and Jak X...Originally Posted by PrincessH
See above--setting that flag does in fact fix some games that nobody has even really been yapping about. I seem to remember hearing those persons who tried SOTC had it working without setting another mode. I'll know tomorrow when I have the game.
anyone has crimson sea 2 and try it on mode 4 ?
DMS4 lacks a force VGA mode so it is therefore useless to me.When that changes I will install one.
BTW the PS2 scene would be far better off it it was 90% open like the xbox scene is.Problems like this with one chip having a certain subset of needed features while another chip having a different subset of needed features would be eliminated.
