Here is my tutorial on cheating on games stored on ur HDD without the use of a modchip or the original HDLoader disc. This method has been tested and works fine and it's super easy.

    Items Needed:
Cheat Device of You Choice (I used Codebreaker 9.1)
    Exploited PS2 + Trigger Disc

Step 1. Put your cheat device into ur PS2, boot it up, load the codes for the desired game u wish to play, hit start game so the tray ejects so another disc can be loaded.

Step 2. Leave the cheat device disc in the tray and press X or hit the tray eject button to make the tray retract back into the PS2.

Step 3. Once back in your PS2 ur cheat will begin to load, when the screen changes from the booting cheat device screen and goes black hit the tray eject button then quickly replace the cheat device with ur trigger disc and press the eject button again. (if done corectly u will see the PS2 go back to the main browser say reading disc then the PS1 disc icon will popup beside the MC icon)

Step 4. Select the PS1 disc icon, ur trigger disc will load the exploit then from there select HDLoader, then the game u wish to play and let it load from there.
    HAPPY CHEATING!

I just tried doing this using Codebreaker 9.1 Everything went as described by your steps, but none of the cheats are taking effect. Perhaps there's something I'm missing? I'm using HDL 0.7c fully patched from MC.

I also tried running codebreaker's elf file off the MC using uLaunch(after renaming it) but it just gives me a black screen. (I didn't extract it using any tools, simply copied it using windows explorer then renamed it. That's probably the problem)

very clever. You let the codes load into memory, interrupt the loading process of the game and boot back to the browser (while the codes are still in memory) and then load up HDL. While this *sounds* like it works, no one else have tried it and successful but you, although I want to take a crack at it. This sounds a heck of a lot better than getting patch SLUS's and messing with game ISO's to build in cheats.

Sorry I havent been on the forums in awhile guys but to help u out boosted check and see if enabled the Master code for the game u wish to cheat on. You also may have a character in the code wrong and that could be preventing any of the codes from working. I made this up for the people who have HDLoader on their HDD, but not the retail disc because if u have the retail disc it's very simple to cheat just put in the cheat device disc, select cheats, and swap out the cheat disc for the retail HDLoader disc and go from there.

I am using the AR MAX Evo and am wanderong when is the exact time to make the switch? Coz knowing will make future switches simpler. Before the launching game comes up or after? I'll play around till someone replies :P

I've been away as well, so I didn't see the reply til now. I do indeed have the master code enabled, and all the codes were downloaded from Pelican themselves. Perhaps I should just give up.
