to start PS2OS installed on HD

Hello here,

Because I am a lazy guy, I installed an DMS4 EZI in my PS2, now I would like to start PS2OS from my hd (like the xbox dashboard), it's formated, PS2OS run fine from cd, but I am very lazy and to put each time the cd not good for me

, I prefer to hit the button

, ok on my xbox it's very easy, no need memory card, all boot from HD, is that possible on PS2 ?

On the other hand, try searching the forums, there is plenty of info about launching apps from the memory card and dev9 type solutions about.

oh, ok but the problem is not about the modchip but about the tool, I am asking "how to install PS2OS on my hard drive", not how work my modchip

can you feel the difference.

I just need a link or something like this, please help me.

No need to be sarcastic. What I was getting at was that you should probably be looking at the DMS forums for advice. Without certain modchips, it is impossible to launch applications without using either a MC exploit or a bootable CD.

These 'special' modchips, like the one you have, have the option of direct-booting an elf from MC or an internal flash. This is the bit you need to be looking for advice with.

sorry and I just finished to install the "chip" and yes there is a "auto boot elf" on the bios, I have to press one button, that's all, it's very lazy for me

simple just do this:
take hdd explorer and install it (you can launch from lan and it should say partial installaion is ok in that way)
then use ftp or ps2os directly and go on __boot partition
erase boot.elf if it's there, and copy ps2os on that partition renaming it as boot.elf (all undercase). reset your ps2 with start pressed and here you are your ps2os from hd, other way is installing a loader on the mc but it's less direct.
then you can go on dms config and select autoboot on dev.olution 2 and ps2os will start automatically at all boot (if you don't select something different on the controller)

I installed PSO2OS on my hd, I start it with hdd explorer but when I try to setup PS2OS it freeze, also i installed many other soft on my hd and several don't boot, this is not like my xbox!!!, also i get many problems with the ftp, I use flashfxp and some folders don't appear, imposible to create folder, to remove, to do anything... seems to be locked.... all tools work fine from cd but not really from hd..... this is my opinion
