SSX3 & HD Loader. –
12-02-2004,01:01 AM
I have tried to play SSX3 off of hdloader atleast 50 times. Cricex says that there is no mode needed when playing the game which a few people I know can confirm. After creating a image of SSX3 it was transferred over with WinHIIP (1.6.3 the first time, 1.6.4 the second time). The second time around I created a new image incase the iso was the problem. After I select the game in hdloader all that comes up on the screen is a snowflake in the left corner, which endlessly spins. I've tried it with 3 different controllers since I know some games (like Def Jam) dont play right unless you use a certian (analog?) control. I have also tried taking out the MC since I know that it checks the MC after loading. I know that the image I used was good because it worked on another PS2&HDD. Do anyone know what the reason might be that it isn't working? My PS2 is v1 if that helps. Ive been trying to get this game working for weeks now so any help would be apprecaited.
Thanks

I'd like to know whats up as well. I installed using the MC exploit and it would hang at the snowflake.
However, when I try to run the game with the HDLoader disc in, it loads and plays just fine.
Seems kinda weird that it happens. Anyone know what might be causing it?

Downhill Domination does that too...
And at least the two last Hairy Pothead games.

the problem exists wenn you have D2-Patch installed. Make it to D3 or leave it and you will play just fine.

D3 breaks the compatibility with a whole bunch of other games though. But D2 fixes the timestamp for several important games. MGS2, MGS3, GTA3/VC, etc...
I wonder what timestamp problems are fixed with D1, and if that patch would break the compatibility with SSX3.

I had this problem also until I patched HDloader with HDL AIO, i don't know which patch did the trick but I applied them all except the date/time bug fix.

this has turned in to quite an annoyance for me. i've started using keylauncher with 3 versions of hdloader.. it makes life a lot easier.

Tell me about it. What I wouldn't give to know why D2 breaks SSX3 and GT3. BTW, isn't that avatar a picture of Mike Magee from the 70's posted on The Inquirer a while back?

I'm going to try to use the D3-Patch and just mess around with the hdl AIO patches and hope something works.
Thanks for all the help so far. Ill reply with update soon.
