Speed of HDD? ata66? ata100?

So I'm seriously doubting that official Sony HDD is ata133... Does anybody have any clue how fast the official Sony HDD's are? I don't want to put in one thats slower than it'll take but I dont wanna put extra $$ into speed it won't even use... HELP!

I don't know off hand but it really doesn't matter what the Sony HDD is...its either ATA-100 or ATA-133 but its 5400RPM and its burst rate is not going to be even close to ATA-100's max so there would be no speed difference between the two.

I've been dying for that info... Not gonna throw in a ata133 7200rpm 8mb cache hard drive when a crappy old ata100 5400rpm 2mb cache buffer will give me the same speed, lol... I woulda just asked about the ide controller on the thing but I wasn't having much success w/ that question so I just asked about the official HDD... Your answer was very helpful, thanks! If anybody does konw the IDE controller's speed, please let me know...

From everything that i have heard it is ATA66.
