Sony HDD, cant get it detected
Sony HDD, cant get it detected –
I got a sony ps2 hdd from ebay, now, I checked it in the warez version of hddutil (v0.1 i think), and it doesnt detect any hdd, neither does DMS HDDformat, neither does PS2Menu-K, I tried it on my PC, I dont think it worked there either too (my IDE Raid chip didnt detect it),
Do i need to do something to it first b4 I can use it on a ps2 program?
It should have been recognized in one of those attempts. (if not all) Are you sure its an OFFICIAL drive?
do u have the dsm3 mod? or a mod that does auto patch for the atrxfile?
cause u can't use a backed up hdd ultil unless u got those mods :-p
imho, if the HDD doesn't get detected on by those ide bus in PCs, u've got a burnt HDD.
in general, as long as the console gets ATAD patched, it'll recognize any HDD. as for DMS3 (which i am using), you may need to disable all mode except ATAD patching. U can access this menu by pressing all 4 shoulder buttons on the controller on boot time.
Earlier my hdd couldn't be detected by the ps2 either. The problem was because there was no jumper on the harddrive. Once i put the jumper back on, it recognized my harddrive.
Good idea sunchild. Make sure the jumper in your hdd is set to master.
glad you got it workin , btw..sony hd suk
"What year is it today?"
Jesus Christ is the most important person who lived on this earth. he died on a cross 2005 years ago. for sinners to be saved.
its a sony hdd, when i get back to london ill get the model number too.
it has those stupid rails and everything.
does the official sony hdd have jumpers on the back?
BTW: it powers up, just aint detected by DMS hdd tool, or $ony hdd util (downloaded/warez)
I have this problem too ..... It used to detect it, but I think I lost a jumper .....
right now I do have one jumper on my HDD and its set vertically across the pins on the side closest to the IDE plug .... is there supposed to be any more .... The stupid harddrive doesnt have a label that indicates whats master or not ...
