Someone tried hdl_dump with PS2 Linux? –
Which means to compile the win32-networking server (ha-ha-ha), run it on the PS2 (something like ./hdld_svr /dev/hda) and try to upload a game from a Windows box via network. Or to try to mount a samba share on the PS2 (maybe there are additional modules/packages that should be installed first) and to install a game with hdl_dump itself.
Note, that this could possibly destroy the information on the HDD, so do approach with care :-) Most likely once should not use ps2fdisk after hdl_dump or hdld_svr, since they alter the disk contents directly, therefore Linux kernel would not be notified for the partition changes (therefore install, then reboot).
If someone dares to try, please post whether the experiment completes successfully and what is the transfer speed.
