So I got hdloader running, what can/should I do next?
So I got hdloader running, what can/should I do next? –
So I recently installed a HDD on my ps2, and downloaded hdloader (which I promptly converted to a DVD since I didn`t have any CD-R lying around). It worked perfectly and I copied over a few games and amazed myself at the improvement it made.
But now I`m wondering what more I can do/should do. Seeing as the scene community has brought out alot of programs and tricks, I find it a little hard to navigate between it all and find what I could possibly want to try out.
Some specific things I want to do is maybe patch hdloader. Seeing as it adds some compatability options and what not, I figure I might use it in the future. Is there any easy tutorials out there for that?
And secondly I want to transfer games from .iso images on my comp to my ps2. Since the ps2 is crap at reading games with slight errors, I find I`m unable to transfer a couple of games with scratches on them (which my PC would read just fine). So I would want to transfer via ftp to the HDD I`ve installed and be able to easily play that game. Any tutorial for that?
The tools I`ve got is obviously a PS2 with a hdd installed and hdloader on a dvd. The ps2 is also modded with a messiah 2 pro chip, and I`ve got an x-port device. And of course a PC with ftp-cables and all that stuff.
First off get yourself a program called hdl-edit and you should be able to patch the hd loader with that.
As for transfering games via ftp - I wouldn't bother - I'm not sure it is possible but if it were then I think it would take forever. Try using winhiip and connecting the hdd directly to the pc to transfer games. I use the ftp thing to transfer elfs to the mem card and sega roms to the hdd. It is a pile of work to do but I don't have the mod chip so it is my only option.
You should be able to get the hdl edit program on this site in the skins section I think.
As for winhiip I'm not sure - try google
for ftping the games use hdl dump
