  1. #1 Slow loading using HDLoader

I“ve tried HDLoader with my only spare HDD. It“s a Seagate 20 GB 5400 RPM. Everything worked fine and the games start with out any problem. But the loading times is slower than from DVD. Spider-man 2 is unplayable because the HDD can“t keep up streaming all the graphics and sound. Colin McRae 4 have almost similar loading times as the original DVD, if not longer.
Is this a known problem with smaller drives (less then 40 GB)? The drive itself was used in my PC untill a couple of months ago with no problems at all.

    thanks for your answers.

I tried formating the hdd with dms3 format tool, and after that I installed spider-man 2 with hdloader. It worked a lot better. The only problem now is the audio skipping when the action speeds up in the game. I“ll try to reinstall Colin McRae 4 later and see if the loading time will get reduced.

I have used a 7GB without any problems. That was the first hdd I used for HDLoader, and I was in awe of the decrease in loading times.

It has to be some sort of problem with your hdd..thats the only thing i cna think of.

Try to recreate your game image from disc again, my Initial D game has skipping/cracking noise too and solved the problem after I inject anyother copy of the game.

P.S. my PS2 test drive Quantam 6.4EX fireball works perfectly in terms of speed and reliability but of course the problem is the size and rather noisy even at idle.
