Simple problem (I hope)!
Okay, so I've been using HDLoader and patches and etc. for awhile now and it's been the first time in a long time where I've used the PC to transfer images to my HDD. After I did that, I went back into Keylauncher to try and run a file and none of them work, they all say they can't read the HDD. Even when I used the HDLoader disc it said there was no HDD attached. Is there any software available for me (for PC) to look at my partitions and make sure that my .ELFs aren't damaged? I screwed around with my jumper too, it's set back at Master though. Please help.
What software did you use to format your HDD for the PS2 originally? You could try using uLaunchELF to access your HDD while in your PS2, and see if that helps with launching, or copying your .ELF's to your PC? Then you could use a program like HkSFV to create a .MD5 or .SFV file from your ELFs and compare it with the original .ELFs to see if they were damaged somehow.
What .ELFs are you trying to launch?
If you formatted your HDD with HDL Dump, then you can use that to check if the partitions are damaged. If you used WinHIIP, then use that to try scanning/reparing the drive if it has problems.
None of the partitions are damaged. But nothing will read the HDD. The jumper is set to Master but does it matter which way the little jumper piece is put on?
WinHIIP was the original program and WinHIIP was what I just used. I have no idea what changed though.
no , the little jumper is only a link accross the pins. whats important is that it is in the right place. hdd must be master to work in ps2. check your network adaptor to make sure the hdd is seated correctly and that the master is set correctly.
I think the problem lies in the Network Adapter. The HDD runs fine through the computer and there's nothing corrupted but when I start the PS2 I don't see the flashing orange light where the HDD is. I don't think that I'm getting any power to the HDD and in turn it's not loading.
I am having the exact same problem right now, let me elaborate
usually when booting up, you can see the orange light in the ventilation go nuts and the hard drive starts to make the crunching sound that means it is being read. This has stopped happening and PS2-menuk doesn't see the MC database, which is to say it doesn't read the HDD. Like the other guy, my HDD works fine when connected to the PC... but something is different when it's on the PS2 network adapter/PS2.
