I realize there is a list compiled on a website regarding working/non-working hard drives for the PS2, but for some reason this drive isn't listed. It's a Seagate 250GB 7200.10 ST3250620A. People say that the 320GB drive works, but for some reason mine always freezes at the opening of HDLoader. Now before anyone says it could be my network adapter or improperly patched HDLoader (.8C), this all worked previously with an older 40GB drive.
The one thing I have noticed is that when the PS2 is booting, the HD doesn't actually begin to spin up until HDLoader tries to access it (or the file browser, except it also freezes when trying to access it), but with my older 40GB, it spun up immediately once the PS2 was turned on. Also, the drive works fine in Windows either for normal storage, or in Winhiip where I formatted it to 48bit LBA. It gets recognized fine in Winhiip, just nothing on my PS2. Could this just be an incompatible drive? Or is there something else I could try? Thanks!
