I have DMS4 Lite with ToxicOS 1.2 and 300GB HDD and would like to run HDLoader from the HDD rather than from CD because I have an early model PS2 and the DVD drive is just awful. Exactly how can I make this happen?

Isn't ToxicOS superior to HDLoader, and doesn't require a CD?
The easiest way I know of, is to download HDD Exploerer from the DMS website.
After you have it installed, you can load up the menu by holding START as you power on the ps2. You can then install the ELF version of HDLoader.
If you have no use for HDD Exlorer, download it anyway, and replace the file on the cd with HDLoader. Then every time you boot up and hold start, it'll load HDLoader automatically.
Thanks ShocWave, that was very helpful. Jea, ToxicOS is awesome, but I do not have itI meant I have ToxicBIOS 1.4, not 1.2, and I am trying to get HDLoader 0.8B to boot from HDD. I managed to get HDLoader 0.7c on the HDD with your method, but I am unable to locate an HDLoader 0.8B ELF file. Anyone know where to get it? The HDLoader 0.8B disc itself contains no ELF files.
if it has a slus file just rename that to hdl.elf
