Recovering formatted HD?
Recovering formatted HD? –
Hi, I accidently/drunkenly formatted my PS2 hard drive (200GB Maxtor) within HD Loader (I'm still not sure how it happened, I just saw 'formatting HD' once and now my games are gone). It only took a couple seconds, so it was most definitely a 'quick format' and I haven't touched the drive since then.
Is there any way to recover my games? Theoretically, all the data should still be on there due to the quick format, right?
heh, thanks a lot!

are you using the patched hdloader it could be that its a bad hdloader burn. try to use a different image burn of the loader and try it. but glad to hear that you recovered your iso's.
I am under the impression that you are using the same HDLoader that you were using when you did the format, so it should work correctly!
How long have you left it at the Frozen title screen?
If it is rebuilding the Settings file and you have a large hard drive it can take upto a minute to rebuild it!
You could also try putting your drive back in your PC and starting WinHIIP again. Select the drive then use the Edit Settings on one of your images. You don't have to change anything, but make sure you hit the OK button. This will force WinHIIP to rewrite the Settings file with updated checksums.
The only other thing to do is to delete the HDL Settings partition and let HDLoader recreate it.
