Read Errors with these Games in particular

hey there guess some games dont work with the HDloader i put any
"simple 2000" type games in and theres read errors when i try to install them to harddrive?
why is that is it cause the bottom side of the disk is blue in colour? they are Japanese games but i installed samurai showdown V fine and thats Jap too so cant be region, but whats the problem :/ maybe if i can transfer the game from my pc to ps2 it would work that way?
question is how do i see my ps2 from my pc how do i do it not sure if someone told me before if they did im sorry i forget things and i cant read as well as some people so i thought i might post it again :) but in correct forum this time i hope lol

edit- forgot to ask when i installed Grandia 3 with HDadvance it works fine and all that but its 2 disks big, I installed both but when the time comes to change disks in game how does it work with the other disk 2 installation on the harddrive?

err like somebody help me.. anyone? Hdadvance doesn't work with not only simple 2000 games but also baldurs gate dark alliance, wont copy to harddrive. /sigh i spent over £300 for this stuff lol i just want one place to ask how to do it all, going to multiple forums is hassle having to repeat it all :( im Greek my reading isn't that bad lol so please post in English :P

There isnt a way to do this. Beacuse the hdloader uses a part of the ps2 that the ps1 games use to run

Blue discs are CDs as compared to DVDs.

HDLoader itself doesn't handle installations for discs with bad blocks very well. This includes Gradius 3&4, and Contra: Shattered Soldier. Those games, and a number of others, work fine if installed via HDL_Dump/HDL_Dumb.

Multidisc games.. depending on if the game lets you save before switching discs, you may or may not be able to play it completely off HD. If you can save, you just reset and load the second disc up from HDLoader. If you can't save at that spot, you're going to have to get past the swap using the original discs as you can't just switch discs in the middle of HDLoader.

Rip the game on the PC to an ISO file.. then use WinHiip to install the game....

have you checked the compatability list at www.ps2hd.com?

This will help you find if a game is compatable with HDL... and if a patch is needed to fix it for HDL.... also you might want to look into ExPERT... a ISO shrinking program... to save precious space on your HDD.... I've shrank about 15 games of the 50 that I have and saved over 20GB of space... which is enough room to install up to 10 average sized games... I'm shooting for over 100 games on my 300GB HDD.

I'm not sure how to rip the game... seen quite a bit about using DVDrypter, Apache, and Alcohol 120%.... But I've not used any so far...

hi thanks for replying, lets see well some games i could live with running off the disk but some i cannot forgive, Champions of norrath return to arms, one of my fav games gets busted and freezes on the screen when running off HDD, aww thats a shame, is there any way to fix that? btw i can use iso buster to make iso's but when i tried WinHiip it dont work or i couldn't get it to work rather, i got my ps2 connected to my router but i cant seem to find it when i switch the ps2 on i cant find it on my pc via WinHiip, any small guide u could give a fellow?

Return to arms is buggy, but works fine off HD. i swear.

And it was installed from within hdloader. it might rreqiuire mode 3 htho.

mode 3? i dont understand whats that how do i get mode 3 oh no also FFX international version dont work, its dangerous for champions of norrath to be buggy what if it freezes when ur deep in the game and u didn't save? for me it freezes soon as it loads up :(

edit- oh about that FFX-international its really more it had read errors when installing and it asks me if it wants to continue with the errors chances are the game will be really buggy if u continue, thing is maybe read error's and some buggy games is b/c hdloader needs patching and updating?

emm mode 3 whats that? has anyone got FFX international working as well?
now i dread installing star ocean 3 or Magna Carta it feels like a waste if they dont work what version of hdloader is best to get that works with champions of norrath and mode 3 etc.?

edit- oh actually i found something its called DVD-9 support and i think i enabled it for champions of norrath im pretty sure it might work for some other dual layer games, wow now champions of norrath doesn't jerk on screen before when it took i dunno 10 years to load option screens up. although im still puzzled how to view the ps2 via the pc like i got it connected to my router and when i goto hdloader software i cant see it connected in my router, how do u do it? i would like to load up if possible hdloader to my memory card so i could boot from memory instead of cd/dvd drive? i got the dev mod neo chip installed it says i can boot from memory card but i dont know how to do it any guides for a fellow gamer?
