I was able to start a LAN game in Ratchet and Clank : Up your Arsenal by pointing to a different .ELF file that is available (I5BOOTN.ELF) after I DVDDecrypted to ISO, edited the system.cnf file (say what? this thread ---> http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26686), and transferred from PC to HDD with Winhiip but I have nobody to connect with here so unknown if LAN-mode truly works this way. Unable to connect online though.....(DNAS and I have no means of obtaining the DISCID). I have not tried single player with an unmodified system.cnf file but I expect the same results as everyone else so far. Seems to be a similar problem that was fixable in Viewtiful Joe (possibly a disc seeking command so maybe the SLUS patchable).
when you get to the first enemy you encounter, the sfx shut off, but game still runs, not allowing the controller to be recognized at all until you die, then it goes to black screen. Saving after that point with the retail disc then replaying with hdd doesnt work either. (i've had luck doing it that way)
So UYA has an elf file? so if we do what is described in the thread it should work.

Unfortunately, the elf file only boots to multiplayer menu where you can choose online or lan play. I only mentioned this in case someone wanted to mess around with lan mode. When you attempt to exit out of the multiplayer screen, BSOD. So we must stick with the disc for now.
anyone try using the cdloader method ???
I have noticed that a backup DVD will work fine (off the disc), but when playing off the HDD the very second that the game tries to auto-save it will freeze (which is why it freezes immediately after creating a new game file).
So is it a SAVE related problem then?
Not really cause it also freezes when you press the "start" or "select" buttons during gameplay.
has anyoen tried the pal version??
how about using the files off swapmagicfix.com and creating new imls etc.. would that work ??
