Quick (stupid?) question about setting up HDD
Quick (stupid?) question about setting up HDD –
I have an older Samsung drive I'm just putting in to test with. It's setup for PC use (fat32 partition). Do I need to remove this partition before I can set it up in the PS2 or will hdloader format that partition for me? Right now it freezes at the splash screen with the yellow light on.
Answered my own question I guess. I just threw it in the computer and deleted that partition. Still freezing in the same spot. HDcompatibility list is showing it as working. Possibly I need hdadvance instead of hdloader?
The ps2 will format it for you. make sure the jummper is set to master. And hda and hdl are the same.
It's set for master. I formatted it with winhiip in windows to see if that would work, but it still freezes at the splash screen with the yellow LED on
i believe that you can trow in about any formated harddrive and HDloader wil format is self.
ore try pressen L1+L2+R2+R1 when booting. then it tried te reformat your drive(don't know this for sure)
I'm using a gameshark swap trick to load hdloader, since i have an old swap chip. Could this be affecting it?
try setting the jumper to cable select
my western digital drive wouldnt work until I did
also you could try formatting it with winhiip (pc software)
I've tried setting it to master/cable select/nojumper. I've tried with no partition and with a partition made with winHIIP. Nothing seems to work. It's listed as compatible with hdloader. I also got the hdloaderv7, but that doesn't even get to the splash screen. I'm beginning to think I should just get a new PS2, since this one can only read cd-rs(half the time if that even) but I'm worried I still won't have any luck
It could be cause ur booting using gameshark...
Did the list say it was compatiable with YOUR version PS2?
just out of curiousity, what's the date code on your network adapter?
