That would work with the traditional "PS2-Exploit/"Independence Exploit".

You can copy the FMCB-Installer to MC, but you still need a way to run Homebrew.
It is possible this way, thought... Not sure if ESR-Patched HDL-Discs works.
Then FMCB will let be run a burned version of HDAdvance/HDLoader in my PS2 which will let me run an ISO from my PS2's HDD that I just formatted with WinHIIP?
Anyway,... A much easier way is to start HDL from MC, USB, or HD (use uLE/"unofficial LaunchELF", if you want to start it from internal HD).
That depends on what you want to do.
I know I need to format both the MC and the HDD
For an FMCB-Install, you do NOT need to format the MC.
It is only recommented, to avoid problems.
However,... It will work in most if not any cases.
It doesn´t happen so often that something messes up, but it is a good choice especially for clone-cards.
Some devices are compatible and some not.
I'm being nit picky its just most of these tutorials are saying I need a USB stick, AR Max, or some other disc. I can't find one that mentions the USB device I have.
USB-Sticks and USB-HDs are both working with PS2-Homebrew and never drivers even have a higher Device-Compatibility (more devices work on the PS2, with the newer drivers).
