Hi guys, I am new to this whole moding PS2 thing. I am pretty good when it comes to PC Tech stuff etc.. anyways. I when got a Network Card for my PS2. Now there is a few things I want to know.

    1. What are all the requirements to having a network setup to load games into my PS2 HDD and be able to play emulator games on it with out the need of putting a mod chip into my PS2?

    2. Can any HDD work like a 4gig Seagate 7200rpm and 80gig plus higher?

So far I have a Network system with router at home, and extra HDD for the PS2, Network Card, 2x PS2 Memory Cards, 1x PSX Card, and PSX Games.

    Thanks In Advance!

P.S. If there a nice tutorial that will show me how to do all this step by step. I will be graful if you can post the link.

By the way I heard this site rocks big time. Keep up the good work.

    1. there are many ways to install the exploit (i assume that's what you want to do)... in any case, you will need to use ONE of the following (once only):

    - HDLoader or HDAdvance Retail disc
    - Action Replay Max Evo
    - Swap Magic or similar
    - any other swap method (including older action replay games)
    - take your memcard to a friend with a modchip...

if you have any of the above then it's possible to install the exploit...

    2. yes most HDD that will fit the adaptor will work but beware of Western Digitals... they dont fit most of the time. Seagate are good. i've had three and all mine worked. just to be sure, look up the model you are interested in at: http://ps2drives.x-pec.com/?p=list&v...35L060AVVA07-0

there are plenty of tutorials around but it depends on the chosen method as to which you use... the absolute easiest way to do it: visit someone who's already done it and copy their "Your System Configuration" save file onto your memory card.

Cool, but can't I load the boot loader files like the MC one or HDD One via network adapter from my PC? The thing is I want to be able to boot my games from my HDD like my Emulator NES games etc... but how will I get the HDD to be prepare for that while I can't run burn Disk from the PS2?

By the way do I need a disk for my PS2 Network Adapter to configure the network stuff? Since I got my used with out a disk.

Also do I need a USB Make to Make Wire or not because I have a Network Adaptor?

The only way the PC can talk to your PS2 is by using the exploit and running the ps2ftp program. So you have to do one of the things JuddMan said in step 1.

"By the way do I need a disk for my PS2 Network Adapter to configure the network stuff? Since I got my used with out a disk."
    -no

"Also do I need a USB Make to Make Wire or not because I have a Network Adaptor?"
-I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but using a usb key is only one way to load the exploit - there are other ways like JuddMan said.

Hey I have a CD called GamePro Action Disc 1 that load GameShark to load some games. Now I wonder if this helps in order to do the MC or HDD Exploit?

I end up ordering HDLoader to help me at least with the process. I guess I will just have to wait for now.
