Well using the older QCast I streamed movies over my network from my pc to ps2 (I know obviously right), I found that it streams mpegs a lot better than it did avi's. I was going to see if I could find the gameshark version and to see if it handled avi files better. And of course it wouldn't be disabled from the hdd, only dnas protected games are. And btw I rebuilt the cd as a dvd and it works perfectly.

    Does it stream well?

I found it took ages to buffer?

Well it buffers slightly longer than qcast does but it handles avi's better IMHO! I got some stuttering of audio throughout playing, but it was ok seeing as though when I made a dvd out of those files or play them on my computer, the audio is out of sync. I guess they both have their pro's and cons.

p.s. I asked previously, did any use or has used v2.0 the gameshark media player version?
