First, when I put on Time Splitters 2 on the PS2 Hd Loader by inserting the disc, it said it was 4 gigs. So instead, I put it in my PC and copy and pasted all the files on my PC. It was a total of 1.9gigs now because there was no dummy files. I recreated the ISO using cdgenps2 and then sent the iso using HDL_DUMP and FAPLink, however, when its done, the game will not boot. It used to boot when I had the game on Hd Loader by transfering the game through the ps2 disc tray. Where did I go wrong?

All it says in there is to use ISObuster with the CD in, wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose of getting rid of the dummy files? Dummy files are only on the disc so that the disc can be read easier, so why would I want those dummy files on my hard drive wasting space?

Thats nice, but I want to make an ISO through files on my computer (like putting in the game disc, going into the drive, copying all the files onto the PC Hard Drive) So which program can I use to put all the ps2 files like the system.cnf and slus_xxx file and so on into an ISO file that works on Hd Loader?
Well some people learn by trial and error. He isn't trying make an ISO that copies the LBA order of the original or anything, he just wants to save space on his HD. If that is the case, you don't have to rip it properly at all.Quote:

Excited guy, as I said in another post, Nero 6 works best for me. However, CDGenPS2 version 3 has worked for me, but version 2 does not. Make sure you are current on what you are using and if all else fails, try Nero.
Admin, don't suppose it would be possible to create a sticky so people can post known dummy files in games for those of us that do homemade rips?
Nero is not a really good idea. You better use Sony CD/DVD generator and post dummies and IML/IMS files (if that is allowed). You can even add data files directly from the CD/DVD itself without first ripping everything onto the HDD.
Why isn't Nero a good idea? Just curious, because it works fine for me.
And what are IML/IMS files?
Because Nero would create an ordinary CD/DVD and not a Playstation CD/DVD. Probably that is why some of installer programs are unable to auto-detect the startup file. Also, I suspect that such disc is not going to work with the swap-method.
Shrug. I transfer directly from my PC HD to my PS2 HD and it works fine. I just want to play it and save space and this way works for me.
