Hi everyone!
Im a newbie at this forum but I have had something nagging my nugget for quite some time now. It's about the specs of the upcoming ps3.... ok.... here goes!
We know that it will use hardware emulation for ps2 and psx game basicly a ps2 motherboard in the ps3 console to do the ps2s work, right? And it supports usb 2.0, ok.... now here's the big question or rather my thoughts on this.... Do you guys think that the hdloader you've been working on be able to use the specs to (theoretically of course) be able to play both psx and ps1 games using an usb-hdd?
The reason im asking is because in the current ps2s, one can't use hdloader to play (because the console only supports usb1.1 and that sucks and usb advance sucks equally) psx games because the hdloader program uses the psx cpu to run itself leaving only the ps2 cpu free to play. Right, now if ps3 has the motherboard/chip of the ps2 to emulate psx and ps2 wouldn't one be able to use the ps3s cells super cpu for the task of running the hdloader and leave the psx and ps2 emulation to the ps2 moderboard/chip. Because there will be quite a while before one can store enough blue-ray disks/isos on an entire harddrive (even the big ones, because they cost a fortune now) being as the disc itself can store up to 50 something gb of data.
Whew that was long, but a thinker to be sure. Now that I've released myself this nagging question, I'll leave it up to you to talk about it because I've said my peace. THX!!!!!!!!!!!!!
