PS2 not functioning properly with HDD attached.... –
Ok, I'll try to decribe everything as best I can.... Hopefully SOMEONE here will have an idea as to what is going on... I have a V10 PS2 with a DMS3 mod and 250GB HD inside. Everything was working just fine before (don't really know when it went bad I haven't touched the thing in quite a while). But now if I boot it up with the mem card inside so I can have the ATAD auto patching enabled (yes, I've tried multiple mem cards) it boots like it should but it will not boot any discs (CD or DVD) or even enter the mem card/HDD browser. What I get on both accounts (disc or browser loading is a fade out to a black screen and thats it. Now if I don't have the mem card in when I boot, thus skipping the ATAD patching everything works fine discs boot and the browser will show up.... Basically anything that requires a response from the HDD causes a black screen....including HDL, it just sits at the splash screen. I've even tried to reload the HDD software off the utility disc and that did nothing... Any ideas anyone?
Ok, I think I figured it out... it was not formatted to 48bit now that I've done that the system seems to work fine, discs boot, HDL boots, HD/MC browser comes up. The only problem I'm having now is HDL will not install any games. I click on "Install", it tells me to insert the disc and press ok... I do that and can hear the disc begin to spin, but it wont flip over to the name entry so that I can begin the install process. Is the Sony HD software causing a conflict? I can only assume since when I go into the browser it says 127GB free even tho it's a 250GB with no games on it. I've got the 48bit patched HDL and formatted the drive with Winhiip. Ideas???
