PS2 Menu-k with 48bit patch
I guess this has been tested enough now. I added another one one here "PS2MNU-48BIT2". This one is for people who don't have a "MAIN" partition causing ps2menu-k to boot up the last created partition, usualy an hdloader partition wich gives a harmless yet annoying error. It will now boot up the "PS2MENU-K MC Backup" partition. Also vegita said that ps2menu-k and launchelf both use the same config folder on the mc and he wanted to change it. So this one will save to a folder called "PS2MNU-K" instead of "SYS-CONF" just incase that could cause problems. Credit for ps2menu-k goes to KaylaKaze. And credits for the 48 bit atad file goes to Clement. If this is incorrect tell me and I will edit and apologize.
Works only after first boot-up??
Can anyone tell me if I am doing something wrong? For some reason, I can only successfully transfer saves from the memory card onto the ps2menu-k partition using the "MC Backup" after the initial install and boot-up.
What I mean by initial install is that I deleted the ps2menu-k partition and the SYS-CONF folder on the memory card, so that when it boots up with it will recreate the partition and the cnf file.
Any time after that, whenever I try to use the "MC Backup" option, I get an error message saying that ps2menu-k failed to open the files on the memory card. However, an entry does appear under the "Saves" menu, but going into the actual ps2menu-k partition, there are no files in the directory created for it.
The only way that I have been able to backup my saves is to do the "MC Backup" option and have it fail so that the entry in the index and directory for the save is created. Then I transfer the files one by one from the memory card to the hdd.
I'm not sure if it is a bug in the 48-bit patched version or ps2menu-k v0.31 in general. I am launching ps2menu-k as the BOOT.ELF on my memory card. I would appreciate any help.
After a little trial and error, I found the problem. It seems that the TITLE.DB file, which I got from here, was causing some kind of problem with ps2menu-k, all versions not just the 48-bit patched one. It seems to only affect the process used by the "MC Backup" option to open files on the memory card since I was able to run other ELFs both from the memory card and the hard drive. I was even able copy files from the memory card manually by using the triangle button. After I went back to the TITLE.DB I first used, the "MC Backup" option works perfectly. Other than that, this patched version of ps2menu-k has been working great for me.
Off Topic: Maybe someone with the proper tools can delve into the code to find out the root of this issue and patch it to make a sort of universal TITLE.DB.
