PS2 Linux without the full HDD format?
PS2 Linux without the full HDD format? –
06-25-2006,11:54 PM
I recently got the Linux for PS2 discs, and from what I've been reading, I need to fully format my existing PS2 Hard-drive to get Linux on there. Is there a way for one to get Linux on the PS2, on it's own partition, retaining all of the existing partitions?
Thanks

No, however you can install linux, change the partition type to APA with the corrects tools, and then use both ps2linux and hdloader on the same hdd...

There seems to be a lack of documentation there, but nevertheless, I'll find out how to get things working and might write up a tutorial for this. Thanks for the link!
