ps2 hdd recovery –
hey ppl, today.. since i have a few games i wanted to put on my ps2 hdd i connected the ps2 hdd to my pc like normal, but now winhiip says its not a 'ps2' hdd. yeh when i do recover/scan drive it finds all my partitions/games but doesnt seem to 'recover' anything. can someone please help me.
it just seems i need to fix the MBR but i dont know how for the ps2
I have a roughly similar issue... I finally got around to backing up the games on my PS2 HDD to a second one, and the PC locked up during a transfer. Now that I've rebooted, it doesn't recognize the source HD as a PS2 HD anymore! (Not even going to ask why the drive that was being READ got messed up, and the drive that was being WRITTEN TO seems fine. )
I'm assuming that there's data in the MBR or partition table that identifies the drive as a PS2 drive... I don't suppose there are any utilities that could copy it over? I'd hate to try to use some generic HD program to copy the header over without being sure first...
Oh... In my panic over potentially losing 300gb of games, I skipped the obvious step: Putting the HD back in the PS2, and seeing what happened. Despite HDL_dump's refusal to see it as a PS2 drive, it still functions normally. Whew!
