I have come across this issue when I was helping my friend with his HDLoader stuff. How can I enable progressive scan for games on HDD in HDLoader? Like Tekken 4, it requires you press some keys at the setup to enable progressive scan. When it is launched in HDD, it gives no chance for me to do that.

Just push the button like you're supposed to, it works fine for me through HDLoader.

Progressive scan draws the entire screen every frame, unlike standard interlaced video, which draws the even lines one frame and the odd lines the next frame.

I've got a Sony HDTV, but everytime I choose progressive scan in a certain game the screen goes black for a bit (it's testing the setting) and then it comes back to the same screen and progressive scan is turned off. How do I get progressive scan to work in games?

I think you need a progressive scan compatible component cable, you can find them for about $40-60 on ebay

dont buy cheap, you will regret it, however i have a plasma screen to but i cant get progressive scan working either, when i enable i just get a multi-colored rolling screen but this is with retail dvd games too (jak 3 for example)

ive been told its something to do with the fact my TV is 640dpi and the ps2 is 1080 or something?

    Thats rubish.

The PS2 outputs at 480p. Which is samething as EDTV. Every HDTV should be able to display it. There is more likely some setting issues with your PS2 or yout TV set. Do you have a progressive scan DVD player? IF so then test to see if that gives you progressive scan. DVDs output at 480p aswell, so if a DVD works on the TV, the PS2 should aswell, unless the PS2 is at fault.
