    what could be the problems i get if i install my hdd (combo whit ffx1) in my ps2 whit modchip (i have a magic v and a 50001 ps2)???

    you could get DNAS errors and you may not be able to boot backups.

    Like Bgnome said, the HDD software will disable your modchip, which means that you will not be able to play backups whenever you have your HDD installed.

    So if you want to play backups you will have to pull out the HDD.

    ok but if i have my magic v and i install the hdd and i dont quit the chip this will not harm my ps2 or my chip??? in other words will it be ok to play whit the hdd whit the chip installed and if i deatach the hdd play my copies whit no problem to the console or the chip??

    try using "with" instead of "whit"

    Supposedly DMS3 or something with the Fastboot feature is supposed to support the hdd

    In Refernce to all of this, I was infact wondering about SLEEP mode.
    If i intend to buy the HDD Kit and FFXI and put my MAGIC 3.1 into SLEEP mode, will the HDD/FFXI/Network adaptor work?

    Sleep modes should work, but the problem is that backups WON'T boot with the HDD installed, unless you fast boot w/DMS.
    ALLERGY ALERT: The above post may be nuts.

    Consoles:

    Currently:
    *N64, GBA, both un-modded.

    Passed away:
    *NTSC U/C PS2 v4 w/No Solder v4 (SOLD, DRE... Laser Died )
    *NTSC U/C PS with Plugmod (SOLD to pay for above )
