Problem with new drive –

Well i bought a new drive 300gig, poped it in my pc as a slave. ran winhiip. formatted it with 48bit. but when i load winhiip or hdloader 48bit. it says the drive is only 125 gigs free. is this right? or does it only show 125 and there really is 300. If i get the the 125 point will it let me install more games?

Well maybe you can help me. I do have a 300gig and it is only showing 125. I patched my HDL with the 48LBA and I upgraded my bios. upgraded my chipset drivers (which my audio on my comp stopped working because of it all of the sudden ) Then I downloaded a program to see if my computer was LBA Equipped and it says it was. But whenever I try to format the drive it only show 125 This is weird because my main boot drive is 250gig and it shows all 250, and also in winhiip it only shows 125. I must of formated it 30 times, using winhiip, the patched HDL, formatting it with norton partition magic then reformatting it again with winhiip. When i look at the drive in winhiip it does say its formated with 48bit but still nothing over 125 . Im getting desprate and have nothing else to do. Im thinking of returning the drive because im thinking the drive is defective. but I mean I mean the drive was on sale (80 bucks for 300 gig not a bad deal!) What should I do?

i would say return the drive.. it may not be 300gigs for all you know... or the drive may be defective.... try your friends IDE drive or any other IDE drive you got which has got more than 125gig on it... if it works then your drive is defective...
