I downloaded a Kalisto release of Champions of Norrath recently after a long search and have installed it just as I have dozen of other games onto my PS2's HDD and they all work fine, but Champions does not. When I start Champions up there is a menu of sorts that comes up before the game asking me to select NTSC or PAL, once I select NTSC the screen goes black and nothing happens.

Using Google I found an old thread on this very site (http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24167) detailing the same exact problem that I have. I tried the steps that one of the posts (darkyy) suggested (as best as I could follow him, English was obviously not his first language and I may have just misunderstood what he was talking about.)

What was suggested in that thread was to open the ISO (which I did using MagicISO) and somehow replacing the SLUS file with the original SLUS and deleting GAME.ELF. If I understood darkyy correctly he suggests that GAME.ELF is the original SLUS file and just renaming it to SLUS_205.65 will solve the problem. However for me it has not, it has gotten rid of the NTSC/PAL select screen, but the game never loads.

I'm really not sure what to do, I did notice that when I renamed GAME.ELF to SLUS_205.65 that WINHIIP recognized it as SLUS_205 as windows must have turned the .65 into an extension. I am not sure how to correct this in windows, or if this is even the problem. Also note that I had the game set to Mode 3, with these edited ISOs I haven't set any mode and when I hit select I don't see any modes listed just "slow access to HDD, disable network connection" stuff like that. So I am unsure how to set modes once the HDD has been placed in the PS2.

    Any help will be appreciated.
