I was recently removing old games that I no longer played from my hard drive via WinHIIP. While removing one of my games, my power went out. So I get my power back, boot up, and run WinHIIP. Everything seems to be fine except that I'm missing like half of my games . I had like 60ish games on my hard drive and now only see 27 games and 40gb+ is fragmented.

Is there anything I can do to recover these games? I was thinking of trying one of the two options under "utilities" but chose to ask here before doing something that might permanently remove my games. Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you keep DVDR copies of them you don't need to worry about losing them, right ? I've had crashes on my PS2 HDDs and even lost my precious FFXI once ... But it was easy to recover most stuff from the HDD with the HDLdump salvage kit. It could even recover non HDL stuff (on this case all of my FFXI partitions and some free games I DLed from PSBBN)

A link to HDLdump page is at PS2-Scene top page.

I try to avoid winhiip myself as I have the oficial HD and I heard enough horror stories of ppl being not careful while using winhip (Which seems to be "way too powerful" kind of tool, if you get what I mean.)

I was (thankfully) able to recover all of my games with the built in Scan/Repair PS2 Drive utility, so I didn't have to mess with the HDLdump salvage kit. Thanks for the reply though.
