WinHIIP v1.7.5 is the latest version. If that website your talking about has "Download V 1.7.3" in the top-right corner, but has "WinHIIP V1.7.5" under the news section on the same page, then that is the official site. GadgetFreak (the creator of WinHIIP) just never updated his site yet, but you can still get the newest version if you get rid of the "winhiip" part of the url and replace it with "www" and then register on their site. It's in the "Files" section. I would post the link but this forum blocks the link to that site.

How did you format your HDD in the first place, and what program do you use to install the games to your PS2?

it's the orignal 40 gig sony drive. I formatted it with the regular utitlity disc. which i have officially lost..
1.7.5 seems not to want to repair the thing.

Well then that's the reason why. WinHIIP was designed for HD Loader or ToxicOS type software, which is used on Non-Offical Sony HDD's. If your trying to repair a Sony HDD.. I have no idea.

really no idea......but how about putting the hard disk in some other PC as a slave...and using a professional disk repair tool like partition magic to have a look at the HDD and try to fix it...
